This gigantic kid with a huge heart and even bigger zest for life, just celebrated another trip around the sun. Happiest (belated) birthday, Julian Moon. You keep me on my toes and constantly teach me about love.

Each year, during their birthday month, I collect footage of my kids doing mundane things as a way to capture who they are at that moment in time. This year, however, everyone’s schedules were so busy that I never made time for it. The evening before Julian’s birthday, guilt-ridden, I decided to document him over the course of the day on his actual birthday, hoping I would have some material to work with. Thankfully I got a wide gamut of his personality: goofy playfulness, unbridled enthusiasm, aggressive affection toward our dog, devouring of all food, athletic showmanship, pushing around his younger brother, and a love of babies.
